Chapter 1: How it all started..
What is my story?
After living a fairly standard life for about 20 years, I decided to do an exchange to South-Korea. During this time I got more and more in touch with photography. I had always enjoyed taking pictures but since I was in such a inspirational environment, I notably enjoyed it more than ever.
During this time in Gyeongsangbuk-do I started shooting with a professional camera for the first time. This was the Fujifilm xt-10. Since then I was hooked on Fujifilm and never changed since.
Chapter 2 : Taking it to the next step.
Barcelona.
After the exchange in Gyeongsangbuk-do ended, I moved straight to Barcelona, Spain. The day before I moved, however, I bought myself a Fujifilm system camera. This is the moment I knew I wanted to do more with photography. However, I ended up not shooting as much as I had hoped for.
Chapter 3 : Starting to get more professional
Mine Kafon
During my graduation internship at Mine Kafon, I shot many product pictures. This is where I started getting good feedback and felt I needed to take this hobby/passion more serious.
Chapter 4 : unexpectedly moving to Brazil
Brazil
Two weeks after my graduation I decided to take some time of and visit some friends in Brazil. These two weeks turned into 11 months and one of the craziest experiences of my life. I survived only by taking pictures and actually being a professional photographer for the first time ever as a main source of income.
Chapter 5 : Returning from Brazil and beginning a new challenge
Nelissen
After I returned from Brazil, I started a 6 month trainee ship at Nelissen Steenfabrieken. During this time I focused mainly on sales and marketing. However, There were many other small tasks I performed. One of them being photography. During the weekends I did freelance photography jobs.
